To provide technical support on property issues, health and safety issues, and provision of routine maintenance to BHC and its large residential estate.
He/she should be able to work under pressure with a view to meeting deadlines and staff expectations. It is important that the candidate can demonstrate good self-management and organisational skills.
Roles and responsibilities: Undertake plumbing test & inspection and complete testing and inspection sheets.
Reporting any problems encountered on site to the supervisor.
To assist the onsite TWG team in the completion of tasks in a timely fashion and to a high standard.
Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs to the large residential estate of the British High Commission.
Conduct full water Preventative and Planned Maintenance (PPM) in both residential and non-residential properties.
Undertake the Installation and repair of domestic plumbing and borehole pumps, booster pumps pressure tanks and geysers.
In addition he/she will be on an out of hours on call rota.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Certificate in plumbing from a recognised government institution (Preferably Government trade test III, II & I).
5 years of experience in plumbing and water systems work
Working knowledge of water filtration systems i.e. reverse osmosis and UV
Legionella, control methods and legislation
System checks for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
Welding and brazing experience
The applicant should be computer literate as reporting methods are via digital media
Must be able to interpret blue prints and sketches, produce materials lists for job requests and projects
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of gas fittings and gas safety
Be familiar with the required Health & Safety standards governing the plumbing role
Hold a current full driving licence and be a safe competent driver (accident free for three years)
Experience in bore hole pumps
Solar water
Must have knowledge of hand and power tools

Working patterns:
Monday to Thursday - 7:30 AM to 17:30 PM
Friday - 7:30 AM -16:00PM
On call emergency on a rota
Leave:
Members of staff are entitled to paid annual leave, which is earned, from the day they commence employment. Entitlements are as follows:
Grades S1 (L) 25 days
In addition to annual leave, the BHC normally observes no fewer than 9 and no more than 14 Kenyan and British public and religious holidays in a year.
These vary from year to year and are at the discretion of the High Commissioner. A list of holidays is published each year.
