British High Commission Home Office International Operations – Business Support Officer EO Jobs in Ghana
Main purpose of job:The main function of this post is to provide administrative support to Home Office International Operations, based at the British High Commission in Accra, Ghana.
The role will be specifically to maintain and update the administrative records, manage a monthly budget of £1.5M and spreadsheets and other ancillary duties in support of the Home Office International Operations project team.
Assist relationship management through performance monitoring, dealing with internal correspondence, daily procurement management and undertaking monthly budget analysis & the direct line management of country based staff members.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesBusiness support officer to Home Office International Operations officers, Higher officers and Home Office International Operations Regional Manager
Maintaining records of Home Office International Operations staff, their accommodation and requirements
Maintain and update accurate financial records in support of Home Office International Operations and FCDO budget management and procurement processes.
Maintenance and accurate recording of monthly/annual budgets
Liaison with UK Home Office International Operations International desk for finance and budget accountability.
Line Management of Home Office International Operations drivers and responsibility for maintenance of official vehicles, insurance and monthly payments to local support staff
Address accommodation issues and arrange payment of invoices, utility and other bills
Co-ordinate and deliver effective administrative to the Home Office International Operations Project Team. Include booking flights and accommodation and providing logistical support to training events, workshops and conferences.
Preparing official
letters, recording meetings and arranging calls.
Office and asset management
Manage key stakeholder relationships
Opening and maintaining staff appraisals throughout the reporting year; delivering completed appraisal and MTRs to schedule. Counter-signing where appropriate;
Develop and agree objectives to support an evolving business model and team tasks.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Minimum 5 years work experience
An Undergraduate Degree
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to quickly and accurately input data and have a good knowledge of spreadsheets.
Good attention to detail.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team.
Line Management experience in the past two years.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Proficiency in French (ability to understand, write and speak French language without any difficulty)
Familiar with Firecrest, Echo, FCDO and Home Office International Operations systems.
