Principal Accountabilities

• Weekly communication of cashflow forecast to Finance Director and rest of the team.

• Depositing of Cash or cheque payments made by external and internal customers.

• Liaising with the respective bank relationship managers on a regular basis.

• Explore opportunities for short term investments with the bank.

• Analyse the need for Forex, get quotes from the banks and purchase at a negotiated rate.

• To be a member of the Zambian Finance team contributing effectively to all month end closure procedure.

• Prepare journals to record expenses coming from corporate credit cards.

• Monthly reconciliation of all balance accounts and ensure they are ready for review by the second week after month end.

• Prepare returns for PAYE, NAPSA and N H Insurance Scheme at the end of the month and ensure payments due are executed before the due date as required by law.

• Ensure tax compliance adhered to within the specifies timelines of the revenue authority

• Support in risk management through insurance policy reviews and renewals.

• Drive
and strengthen control environment within the business, by advising on compliance to policies and procedures, sharing best practices and ensure ongoing spot checks on control environment matters

• Ensure effective external shareholders management

• Project Management – ensure seamless project implementation and harmonisation with above market initiatives and benefit from leverages, economies of scale and synergies

• Ensure effective external shareholders management

• Ensure Timely implementation/ Update all changes regarding Delegation of Authority.

Skills

• Should work with minimum supervision

• Good capacity for oral communication and written in English language. Should have ability to influence stakeholders.

• Excellent technical & functional skills

• Demonstrate people leadership by means of:

Knowledge/Qualifications

• CA Zambia/ACCA or CIMA Finalist / Degree in Finance/Accounting

• ZICA Memberears

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role

• Good understanding of local accounting principles

• Tax Knowledge

• Computer literacy
