Job Description

Implements systems to test products, making sure they meet company standards for quality and safety. Ensures that quality procedures are followed in all production processes.

Key Responsibilities

Devise procedures to inspect and report quality issues

Monitor all operations that affect quality, ensuring reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output;

Supervises and guides inspectors, technicians, and other staff;

Appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied

Report all malfunctions to production managers to ensure immediate action is

Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data

Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation

Reviews current standards and policies, ensuring all legal standards are met;

Communicate with external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections

Completing and endorsing all inspection records from initial inspection till final acceptance of the piping systems.

Interprets welding procedure specifications and gives instructions to supervisors and QC inspectors.

Responsible for ensuring that welding inspections are done and recommended repair procedures for same done where necessary.

Interprets quality control plans/Inspection test plans and gives instructions to the production team and QC inspectors at various inspection stages.

Responsible for ensuring that relevant inspections of

piping are done and all relevant documentation completed.

Supervises Non-destructive testing i.e.

Magnetic particle inspections.

Dye penetrant tests.

Ultrasonic flaw detection.

Visual inspections etc.

Requirements

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Marine)

Minimum of 7 years in QA/QC Manager role in Steel or Manufacturing industry in Operations i.e Production, Maintenance, Quality, etc

Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is an added advantage;

Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards

Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods

Good knowledge of MS Office and databases

Outstanding communication skills

Great attention to detail and a results-driven approach

Excellent organizational and leadership abilities

Reliable and Trustworthy
