Position: Credit Officers- Agriculture Lending

Job Description/Responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities
Advice and or sensitizing prospective and existing clients on BUFL’s loan products and cross sell other financial products and services.
Guiding clients to fill loan application forms and attach relevant documents in line with BUFL’s loan requirements.
Conduct credit appraisals through undertaking field visits to loan applicant’s homes, agribusinesses and locations of property/securities to be pledged to BUFL as collateral.
Analyze loan applicant’s financial status, credit worthiness and property evaluations in order to determine repayment capacity, the feasibility of granting loans and fallback positions respectively.
Appraise loan applicants’ character, credit histories and conduct reference checks to ascertain willingness to repay loans.
Actively participate in the branch Credit Committee meetings to present loan applications for approval decision and present decisions made to clients.
Receive, acknowledge receipt and record in the Securities Register securities pledged by borrowers and hand over the same for safe custody to the Credit Supervisor or Branch Manager.
Complete and perfect loan and securities documentations prior and post disbursement of all approved loans.
Disburse approved loans to clients on daily basis in line with the set performance targets.
Monitor outstanding loans and performance of the loan portfolio on daily basis in order to design appropriate remedial and recovery measures for delinquent and problem cases.
Implement loan recoveries on daily basis in order to maintain a good quality portfolio.
Prepare and submit in a timely manner reports for the individual or branch loans portfolio in compliance with BUFL’s policies, procedures and regulatory requirements as and when required.
Provide
information and or data required by management to inform decision making processes as and when required.
Manage the relationship with BUFL’s retained debt recovery agencies/companies, court bailiffs and brokers.
File and store records and correspondences between BUFL and the customers in your portfolio or external parties. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Crop Science, Agricultural Economics/Agriculture related course
Experience Requirements:
Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills, Microsoft Office suite for MS Word and Excel.
