Summary

  • BRAC International Microfinance (BI MF) is looking for a freelance designer to design its 2023 Impact brief. The brief will present findings of BI MF’s 2023 impact survey results accompanied with photos and text.

    Background

    BRAC

  • BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty globally to create sustainable opportunities to realise potential. BRAC’s community-led, holistic approach is reflected in its unique integrated development model, which brings together social development, social enterprises and humanitarian response for lasting, systemic change. BRAC is born and proven in the south, and has become a world leader in developing and implementing cost-effective, evidence-based programmes at scale, with a particular focus on communities in marginalised, extremely poor or post-disaster settings across Asia and Africa.

    BRAC International Microfinance

  • Founded in Bangladesh in 1972, BRAC has been one of the pioneers of microfinance. Having started its microfinance programme in Bangladesh in 1974, BRAC first expanded its microfinance operations internationally in 2002 and now operates in six countries outside of Bangladesh - Myanmar, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Liberia and serves nearly 830,000 clients, 96% of whom are women.

  • BI MF’S mission is to provide a range of financial services responsibly to the people living in poverty, particularly women, in rural and hard-to-reach areas, to create self-employment opportunities, build financial resilience, and harness women’s entrepreneurial spirit.

  • BI MF has been measuring social performance and desired client-level outcomes since 2019 to improve our services and achieve long-term impact. Our first Impact Report published last year gives an overview of the results from impact surveys since 2019 and also presents our approach to measurement and management of client-level outcomes and impact. Our 2021 Impact Brief (published in 2022) presented findings of results of that year’s impact survey and key trends since 2019. Download past impact briefs from our website.
