Belgian Red Cross Regional Expert First Aid, Vacancies in Southern Africa

Belgian Red Cross-Flanders (BRC-Fl) supports First Aid projects in multiple countries in Southern Africa.
The projects are implemented through our sister National Societies in South-Africa, Zimbabwe and Madagascar, with managerial support from the Head of Regional Delegation (Johannesburg office of BRC-FL).

The expert First Aid will provide technical support for these and potential future First Aid projects in the region. You will be attached to the Johannesburg office, with frequent travels in the region.

Your profile

professional qualification in topics relevant to First Aid is a must (training, didactics, intervention, institutionalisation, commercialisation (financial analysis, marketing, sales));

master level university degree in a relevant area is required;

experience in working with Red Cross or a related/equivalent international organisation or company is an asset;

minimum 6 years of relevant working experience;

experience in project management is necessary, including planning, monitoring and reporting;

experience in coaching, motivating and developing staff, and skills-oriented training provision is a must;

experience in setting up income-generating activities or businesses and managing change processes is an asset;

result-driven and pro-active, diplomatic, good cooperation skills, intercultural sensitivity and stature to be a senior counterpart for partner

National Societies;

strong communication skills in English and French – both written and verbal – are required.

Knowledge of Dutch is an asset;

excellent computer competencies are required (courant software (applications of MS Office, including Excel);

willing and able to travel frequently in the region;

valid international driving licence (manual gears).
