Baylor Uganda Laboratory Quality management & Systems Manager Jobs

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and quality control checks on all Global HOPE laboratory equipment, train personnel on the proper use of point of care equipment, and maintain standard operating procedures for all laboratory testing.

Overall Responsibilities

Develop and monitor implementation of periodic work plans, procurement plan and budgets for providing laboratory services.

Develop and monitor quality control for point of care testing instrumentation. Perform testing of quality control samples as necessary.

Lead efforts to move all laboratories providing testing for Global HOPE toward accreditation.

Maintain networks with Global HOPE key stakeholders, and advocate for coordinated and harmonized laboratory systems strengthening interventions.

Monitor stock management, proper forecasting and distribution of laboratory supplies for the PHO team and collaborate with fee for service laboratories.

Ensure documentation of laboratory training, competencies, equipment maintenance (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly).

Monitor Biosafety and waste management practices in laboratory, and related, approved, and appropriate interventions to enhance compliance.

Support Global HOPE Clinical Laboratory and Research efforts by considering areas of overlap between the Research and Laboratory/Pathology divisions.

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:

Master’s degree in Medical Laboratory management

Training in Quality Assurance/Quality Control and Good Clinical Laboratory Practice preferred

A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Laboratory Management.
