BasiGo is an early stage e-mobility start-up looking to revolutionize the public transportation sector by providing matatu owners with a cost effective electric alternative to diesel. BasiGo is looking for an experienced operations professional in Nairobi, Kenya to help us realize our vision for electrified public transit. The Infrastructure Rollout lead will be in charge of rolling out the first of it’s kind commercial electric vehicle charging.

Responsibilities:
Identify, acquire and commission vehicle charging locations around Nairobi to support the sale and operation of electric buses around the BasiGo customer routes and grid infrastructure.
Manage a team of site identification and acquisition.
Assist in site design, component selection, and procurement to support EV charging station installations.
Work with local contractors and utility companies to upgrade power infrastructure as required.
Work with local contractors to deploy civil works needed to support charging depot operations including but not
limited to flooring solution upgrades, shelter, security and
Manage of EV charger network and uptime post installation and commissioning.
Our ideal candidate would have:
Required Qualifications
Experience deploying high-reliability DC and AC power systems in Nairobi.
Experience working with developing RFPs and managing contractors involved in utilities infrastructure and understanding of utility company project implementation processes.
Experience engineering backup power solutions using generators and/or batteries.
Familiarity with site selection, acquisition and commissioning for utility and civil works projects.
Direct experience with electric vehicles and electric vehicle charging systems is a plus.
Skills & Attitude
Strong technical communication skills.
Roll up your sleeves and get it done.
Detail-oriented across all aspects of civil and electrical utility engineering, safety, and quality.
Willingness to communicate with a variety of local and international partners.
Demonstrate ability to independently manage and execute technical project.
