Bank of Africa Network and Security Administrator Jobs in Kenya

Purpose

The job holder will be Responsible for the maintenance of the computer hardware and software systems that make up the computer network.

With a concentrate on the overall health of the network, security, intrusion detection systems ensuring network connectivity throughout and bank’s LAN/WAN infrastructure, and all other technical considerations at the network level while ensuring best governance practices are observed in the configuration of network and security equipment, i.e., Switches, Routers, Firewalls, etc.

Responsibilities

Deployment of new products and implementation of new projects while ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget

Securing of the IT infrastructure to prevent fraud through security breach;

Over 99% availability of infrastructure and security infrastructure;

Ensuring Disaster Recovery tests are completed as per schedule. Securing the network to prevent a security breach;

Ensuring audit issues closed within the quarter of identification, or within the agreed time frames;

Attain a minimum of 90% on SLA adherence on resolution of service desk tickets;

Implement initiatives that give the Bank a competitive advantage.

Competencies and Experience

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in implementation of network & security infrastructure.

With below Functional & Behavioural Competencies:

Thorough knowledge of network and security infrastructure implementation and support requirements;

Practical experience in configuring Routers, Firewalls, Switches, etc;

Ability to work autonomously

Ability to think strategically

Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.

Education

University Degree preferably a Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field from an Institution recognized by the Commission of Higher Education.

Certification in the following areas CCNP – Routing & Switching, CCNP – Security.
