AVSI’s main activity areas are, Education and social development, urban upgrading, healthcare, labour, agriculture, food security and water, energy and environment, humanitarian emergency and migrants and refugees, reaching more than 2,6 million direct
beneficiaries.
AVSI Foundation Kenya implements projects in early childhood development and education, psychosocial support, health care including HIV/AIDS, economic strengthening for families in need., Community projects, food security
and emergency relief.
Aim of the position:
Provide accurate information for financial statement and assure correct analysis and recording
of revenue and expenditure.
Main Responsibilities and duties
Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Compile and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
Prepare financial management reports
Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
Compute taxes and prepare returns, ensuring compliance with payments, reporting and other tax
requirements
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
Analyse
and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial
commitments and future revenues
Analyse financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
Assist in management of Asset and inventory register
Minimum requirements:
CPA Part 11 and A degree in accounting or finance.
Computer literate with knowledge of one or more accounting software
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
