An exciting opportunity exists for a Recruiter at AVI Limited in Bryanston, Johannesburg. The purpose of the role is to provide a holistic recruitment offering across the group whilst building and maintaining client relationships.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for the full recruitment function, research and extensive recruitment administration. In addition the role will require attracting top talent in both the retail and graduate space, using relevant sourcing methods and media, and providing support to the Recruitment Team where necessary.
Line Manager: Senior Recruiter
Key Performance Areas:Consultation on retail recruitment needsTo recruit and retain top talent into our retail business.
Developing pipeline talent for stores, including; Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers and other store staff.
Work with Senior Recruiter & key stakeholders for our retail business to understand critical talent and build comprehensive, usable market maps from which to pull candidates when a critical skill becomes available.
Be available to travel to various stores, which will include travel to different provinces and some outlying remote areas to source for staff.
Building effective relationships with business stakeholders including line management and HR Business Partners for each retail business i.e. Spitz, Kurt Geiger, Gant, Green Cross and GX & Co.
Ensuring that no transactional issues hold our internal clients up and giving our clients all the information (references, risk checks etc.) so that they are able to make an informed decision around employment.
Saving money on placement fees through direct headhunting and utilizing operative channels for sourcing.
Candidate Management
Effective candidate management throughout the recruitment process.
Management of the candidate's expectation.
Providing a support base to the candidates that are coming on
board and ensure professional onboarding experience before start date.
Business Development & Customer Relationship Management
Developing customer relationships with Regional Managers and key retail stakeholders.
Staying abreast of developments within the business unit in order to proactively recruit ahead of requirements becoming critical.
Knowledge Sharing and Best Practice
Knowledge sharing with cross functional recruitment team.
Ensuring actions are always in line with best practice from receipt of requisition to placement.
Staying abreast with market trends and refining specialized skills on an on-going basis.
Graduate Recruitment
Liaising with stakeholders with regards to graduate requirements.
Utilizing specialist knowledge with regards to Graduate Recruitment.
Coordinate with Universities around career days and campus advertising
Conduct research on universities through SAGEA survey.
Build relationships with Universities & Career centers to develop long-term relationships with Faculty Heads and Career Centre representatives.
Attend & organize company presence at recruiting events when applicable.
Conduct and coordinate campus and in-house interviews and selection process for new hires and interns.
Present shortlisted candidates to business for consideration.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in recruitment within a corporate environment.
At least 2 years’ experience within the retail Footwear & Apparel industry is essential.
Some exposure to graduate recruitment would be advantageous
Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge of head hunting and direct search methods is essential.
Qualifications:
Matric is essential
Relevant tertiary education would be advantageous
Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of labour legislation (i.e. Basic Conditions of Employment, Labour relations, Skills Development, South African Qualifications Authority)
Competency Based Interviewing
Advert writing techniques (high level competence)
Computer literate, with strong excel ability essential
