Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager at I&J Aquaculture, Danger Point, Gansbaai. This senior management role will be responsible to plan, direct and coordinate the aquaculture operations relating to all abalone husbandry functions, from hatcheries to grow-out management, production and grading management, animal supply chain / harvest modelling and feeding to ensure that the operating assets are optimised to generate maximum stakeholder value.

Operational Alignment to Company Strategic Goals

Capital Investment and Asset Care Plan

People Management

Stock / Production Management

Harvest an Sales Planning

Health and Safety, Risk Management

Bio-Security Management

Experience:

Minimum 10 years’ Agricultural Operational Management experience

Qualifications:

Relevant degree in Aquaculture / Fisheries Sciences / Agriculture Sciences

Additional qualifications relative to Business Management / Supply chain / Harvest Modelling
Advantages - FMCG / Food Processing background

Additional requirements:

Business Acumen

Harvest Systems and Modelling

Knowledge of Financial Processes and Reporting

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Advantage - Knowledge of Abalone Aquaculture Industry
