Job DutiesFood production supervisors have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
Monitoring employee attendance, performance, and productivity to ensure that all staff members are performing their jobs efficiently
Providing training to staff members on food safety practices and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations
Conducting research on new food products or ingredients to identify potential opportunities for growth in the company’s market share
Establishing work schedules and ensuring that employees are following them, as well as addressing issues that may arise during the work day
Establishing budgets for food purchases and monitoring inventory levels to ensure that food supplies do not run low
Determining staffing requirements by analyzing production schedules to determine how many workers will be needed to complete specific tasks
Overseeing the safety of the food preparation process by inspecting equipment and facilities to ensure they meet safety standards
Evaluating employee performance through regular assessments of productivity and conducting meetings to discuss performance issues with employees
Reviewing employee performance regularly to ensure that they are meeting standards of excellence
Job Requirements
Food production supervisors typically need to have the following qualifications:
Education: For this role a B.Eng in Food Technology or Dietetics is crucual.
Experience: 3 - 5 years experience as a Production Supervisor in an FMCG Company such as Nestle, Unilever, Pepsi, Coca Cola or the likes is important.

Food production supervisors need the following skills in order to be successful:
Leadership: Leadership is the ability to motivate and inspire others to work together to achieve a common goal. As a food production supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of several production workers. Leadership skills can help you motivate your team and encourage them to work hard and achieve their goals.
Communication: Communication is another essential skill for a food production supervisor. You will be required to give presentations to management or employees, so it’s important to be able to convey information clearly and concisely. You will also be responsible for writing employee evaluations, so it’s important to be able to communicate your expectations clearly.
Problem-solving: Problem-solving is the
ability to identify and resolve issues. As a production supervisor, you may be responsible for overseeing the production of a large amount of food in a short period of time. This can mean that you will need to find solutions to problems that arise, such as a lack of supplies or a machine breaking down. Your ability to identify and solve problems can help you to ensure that your team is able to complete their tasks.
Organization: Production supervisors often have to manage multiple tasks at once, so it’s important for them to have strong organizational skills. As a production supervisor, you will be responsible for scheduling employees, maintaining employee records, ordering supplies and maintaining production records. Having strong organizational skills can help you manage all of your responsibilities effectively.

As a production supervisor, you willbe responsible for making decisions about production methods, employee schedules and other aspects of your job. Remuneration
N150,000 - N250,000 Monthly.
