Responsibilities Provide sound, accurate and timely financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial statements and company-wide financial performance report
Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take
Work with all heads of departments to ensure that their individual budgets, as well as the overall company budget, are monitored and managed for the most effective and efficient use of financial resources.
Manage day to day liaison and relationship management with the banks, company’s internal auditors, statutory auditors and other legal authorities, ensuring compliance with statutory accounting requirements, regulations and fiscal obligations.
Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.
Manage the day to day effective control and management of the company's financial control systems,
Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.
Maintain the financial health of the organization.
Ensure that statutory accounts are maintained,
Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans Ensure effective management of payroll and prompt payment of salaries as at when due
Ensure prompt receipt of monies on accounts receivables and payment of account payables due
Supervise the input and processing of financial data Financial Application ensuring data integrity
Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
Verify and approve payment transactions
Perform month-end and year-end accounts closure
process.
Requirements
B.Sc. Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
MBA is an added advantage
ICAN certified
6+ years’ experience in financial leadership roles in a manufacturing company
Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
Proficiency in the use of finance/accounting software
Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
Superior mathematical and analytical skills
Leadership skills and experience
Understanding of data privacy standards
Understanding of business principles and practices
Superior attention to detail.
