The primary responsibility of this role is to Administrate, Maintain, and Support Asante Finance’s core banking system(s) across Africa, with a primary focus on Kenya and Uganda initially. .

Main Responsibilities

• Developing and leading the implementation of a strategy that ensures the management of core banking systems is aligned with the needs of the business.

• Developing policies and procedures that guide interactions with the Core Banking systems to ensure compliance with the regulations (internal and external).

• Developing tools for use in monitoring the performance of the core banking system(s) to enhance ease and efficiency in monitoring and responding to gaps.

• Developing and leading the implementation of change management programs to enhance the uptake of core banking products introduced that enhance service delivery.

• Supervising the administration of core banking system change control files to ensure relevant information security controls are observed.

• Coordinating engagement with users on improvements to the core banking system(s) to ensure the systems are responsive to user needs.

• Supervising data administration (core banking related) to ensure the availability of accurate and current information for business use.

• Leading the design and developing data administration web interfaces for data management.

• Coordinating the testing of new products/enhancements in business applications to ensure business requirements are met.

• Perform Core Banking System Parametrization requests raised by the business teams as well as periodic parametrization changes like calendar changes and change of financial periods.

• Investigate find user/system problems by performing a root cause analysis, verifying by test

case scenarios, and collecting required data/log information to be sent to the vendor for resolution.

• Register issues in the Vendor’s helpdesk system by providing detailed information (error screenshots, table rows, logs from required sources) about an issue. Further track of open issues by timely acting on a Vendor’s requests.

• Ensure that all Core Banking System-related processes (End of Day, Beginning of Day, etc) are smoothly done.

• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

Academic Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or any other relevant field

• 8 years + experience in Core Banking systems administration

Relevant Experience

• Vast experience in Mifos Core Banking or a similar core banking platform

• PHP scripting skills

• Basic knowledge of finance, accounting, banking, and microfinance
