Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented person with strong technical skills and the utmost moral scruples to manage our fuel and smartphone loan products and boda boda. This position requires excellent analytical skills, the ability to think critically and creatively, attention to detail, proven managerial experience, and a team-oriented attitude.

Each branch requires two Sales Team Leads:
One responsible for overseeing operations related to Boda Boda.
Another responsible for managing microcredit/microloans

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Start and build out the Microloan department which will manage Asaak’s smaller loan products, such as fuel and smartphones, with more products to be added in the future

  • Manage a diverse operational team including Microloan Officers to start and potentially others in the future

  • Conforming to Asaak’s operational standards in serving both existing and new customers as well as expanding the customer base

  • Keeping direct reports informed of the different expectation levels of the company in line with the company’s primary goals and vision

  • Be the eyes and ears of senior management to detect any type of fraud, internal or external

  • Financial management: ensure that procurement of goods, management of company resources, and lending operations are executed strictly according to budget

  • Spot check credit files to ensure accuracy and completeness including all required financial information and documents

  • Plan and organize capacity building training for direct reports so as to improve on skills and quality of services offered to customers

  • Training: keep abreast of Asaak’s latest software updates and analytical tools and train direct reports in their usage

  • Portfolio analysis: monitor the loan portfolio and ensure that direct reports are well aware of their Key Performance Indicators and statistics

  • Allocate work and supervise staff to ensure smooth operations and service delivery at the head office

  • Prepare and submit monthly operational progress reports so as to keep the company stakeholders abreast of the
    activities of the company

  • Supervise and maintain a good business relationship with different company service providers and partners such as asset tracking, ride hailing companies, insurance, and associations as may be required

  • Planning focus groups and customer satisfaction surveys that will guide on improving service delivery for customers

  • Managing and ensuring that all the necessary company bills are attended on time

  • Performing any other duty that may be assigned from time to time

    Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another related field.

  • Proven experience in sales, with a track record of exceeding sales targets, credit analysis, finance, statistics, software development, microfinance, underwriting or fieldwork is a plus.

  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a sales team, experience of at least 3+ years

  • Financial analysis, modelling, and management

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service capabilities

  • Highest level of accountability and transparency

  • The highest levels of personal and professional integrity

  • Fluency in English and Luganda is a plus
