Job DescriptionThe Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia.
The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae).
AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works in developing tools for prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public healthy importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.
AHRI would like to hire qualified candidate in the position of Junior Researcher working under Biotechnology and Biotechnology Directorate
Main Duties and Responsibilities
set up and monitor instruments and laboratory equipment,
prepare samples, reagents and media,
Assist in conducting experiments as per experimental protocols, record data and prepare reports
Initiate quarter purchase, prepare detail specification for the items to be procured and ensure its procurements as per the specification.
Work with logistics, finance, human resource as well as other research directorates and support staff
with high team spirit.
Maintain good relation with partner organizations such as Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), Ministry of Health Ethiopia.
Knowledge of research ethics and good clinical practice skill is advantageous
Other Duties
Skills required: ELISA, Cell culture, DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis
Perform laboratory or field activities as might be assigned
Represent the directorate on admin related issues

BSc, Degree in Biotechnology, biology, biomedical science, medical laboratory technology, Chemistry, Nursing, health related fields (cGPA= 2.75 for female and 3.0 for male applicants)
Experience
BSc, 0 years of experience
