Who We AreArmauer Hansen research Institute (AHRI) is a government research Institute. AHRI has a history of research and research training for over 50 years collaborating both nationally and internationally.
Skin Health Africa Research Project (SHARP) is a consortium project, between AHRI, LSHTM, and AAU. Severe Stigmatizing Skin Diseases (SSSDs) disproportionately affect impoverished and marginalized communities in low and middle-income countries causing significant physical disability and psychological morbidity.
Thus, we aim to improve outcomes for people with SSSDs by strengthening the care cascade through scalable strategies for earlier detection, improve management to reduce disability and counteracting stigma through a series of linked studies addressing the following objectives:
to evaluate integrated community-based strategies for early diagnosis, adherence support and stigma reduction;
to develop clinical and patient reported outcome measures for CL;
to promote collaboration and build research capacity.
We are looking for a par timer to lead the Formative study work package
Draft the data collection tools and give training
lead/supervise the data collection and interpretation
Facilitate smooth and timely implementation
of research activities
Organize, plan and follow data collection
Liaise between project team at different levels
Plan and implement regular project team meeting
Remind team members for actions if there are delays/challenges
lead the organization of comprehensive training for community engagement and project employees
In collaboration with project team draft policy briefs on skin diseases on a regular basis based ON CONSENSUS BETWEEN CONSORTIUM MEMBERS AND CONCRETE EVIDENCES
Job Requirements
A potential candidate is expected to:
PhD in Public Health with postdoctoral research level assignment(s) And 4 years of work experience.
Research experience in formative and related studies with publication as an outcome
A formal study in Social Anthropology and demonstrated experience
Experience in teaching, consultancy and administration
