Animal Feeds Formulation & Production Supervisor Job in Kenya

Position: Animal Feeds Formulation & Production Supervisor

Reporting to: The Chief Executive Officer

Animal Feeds Manufacturer is looking for an experienced professional to fill in the above-mention position. The incumbent is required for a busy feed manufacturing company.

Duties will involve supplying technical input into feed manufacturing process with regard to feed formulation, formulation of premixes for internal production, pricing/costing, transferring formulations to computer, overseeing legislative, labelling and KEBS issues.


The successful candidate will also play a key role in production planning, processes and dealing with production challenges affecting the nutrition.

The incumbent will be crucial in information provision and problem solving for customers e.g.

a) Sales and technical team in providing nutritional solutions and production advice to key accounts

b) Design and formulation of diets and feeding programs for customers and the sales force will be part of the role.

The preferred person must have a minimum of:-

Degree (BSc Hons) or higher qualification in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition

A diploma in animal production from a recognized institution

2-5 years’ work experience in feed formulation and production.

Good people and communication skills

A proven track record in feed industry

Core Competencies

Excellent knowledge of livestock farming in Kenya and ideally with some practical livestock farming experience.

Computer literacy

Previous work experience in animal nutrition, feed formulation is an added advantage

Knowledge of manufacturing methods, company capabilities and raw material capabilities

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Ability to work flexibly within a busy team.

Must be registered with a nationally known professional body

Confident expert in animal nutrition.
