Tutorial Fellow – Community Health Practice
Reporting To:
Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs

Nairobi
Job Description
The holder of the job will participate in curriculum development and delivery in Community Health.
Further, the holder will develop, fundraise and implement research and extension activities.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
Participate in the development of curricula in Community Health
Participate in accreditation and implementation of courses as per CUE guidelines
Teach and supervise students
Develop and carry out research studies
Form and manage partnerships for advancing Community Health
Develop and apply innovative and appropriate teaching techniques and material which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students.
Mobilize resources to ensure sustainability of courses in Community Health
Academic Requirements
Masters in Public or community Health or related field
from a recognized university
Publication in peer reviewed journals as per CUE criteria
Registered with relevant professional body
Experience
Teaching experience in a recognized university level or research/industry
Curriculum development and delivery
Knowledge of CUE and regulator requirements
Knowledge and experience in academic or industry settings
Managing clients in his/her area of expertise
At least two years’ work experience in a clinical setting
Experience in use of ODEL methodologies of curriculum delivery
Qualities and Competencies
Knowledge, skills and attitude of an ethical community health practitioner
Excellent academic writing and language skills
Professional student-centric approach to learning
Commitment to quality, teaching, assessment and research.
Ability to work independently
Team player
Leadership capabilities
A strategic and critical thinker with ability to generate and grow new ideas
Computer proficiency
