Job ObjectiveRegional Project coordinator will work 100% of his/her time in the project.
He/she will provide technical guidance to the project team and will be responsible to monitor project progress in line with the national policy and strategy.
He/she provides new insight and up-to-date information for the project team in order to deliver quality services
He/she will ensure the supplies and logistics chain is properly functioning.
Management Responsibilities
Provide managerial support to the project team in the region.
Responsible overall project matters such as day to day management, resource management
Responsible for project reporting.
Description and Duties
Provides management leadership in the project though co-ordination and supervision of the implementation of project activities and supervision of staff in the project.
Plans, implements, monitors and evaluates project activities including:
Preparing project work plans and budgets on annual and ad-hoc basis.
Assigning work on project implementation and undertaking continuous coordination and monitoring of the project activities.
Disseminates project information by preparing and disseminating project reports on a regular basis, Provides financial management for the project including:
Preparation of budgets on annual basis or on ad-hoc basis.
Control of project resources.
Approve and monitor project expenditures for other project staff.
Acts as the key contact for the project in the region to:
Maintain regular communication with members of the project management team and other members of the country Programmes.
Initiate and maintain collaboration with other actors on the ground.
Submit progress reports to key partners.
Ensures programme integration and growth by participating in regional meetings and developing new project initiatives.
Undertakes other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Job Requirements
Master degree in public health
At least Five years of work experience
Relevant experience in Trachoma project/WASH is mandatory
Good interpersonal communication skills, partner’s management skill
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication(both in Amharic & English languages, knowing Afari language is a plus), team and networking skills
Well-developed communication skills to liaise, negotiate and advocate with key stakeholders including with other community based organizations and implementing agencies
Be a team player and communicator and work under minimal supervision
Skills and experience in computer applications and utilization is mandatory, knowing Adobe software is a plus.
Must be able to work with minimum supervision and have strong interpersonal skills and skills to promote teamwork.
Must be willing to travel frequently to project activity areas and woredas as per need.
