Job DescriptionAmref Health Africa, headquartered in Kenya, is the largest Africa based international non-governmental organization (NGO) currently running programs in over 35 countries in Africa with lessons learnt over 60 years of engagement with governments, communities and partners to increase sustainable health access in Africa.
Amref Health Africa also incorporates programme development, fundraising, partnership, advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, and has offices in Europe and North America as well as subsidiaries; Amref Flying Doctors, Amref Enterprises and the Amref International University.
Amref Health Africa has been active in Ethiopia since the 1960s and became fully operational as an international NGO in 2002.
We are currently seeking a consultant firm to conduct impact survey for it’s Trachoma project based in Afar and Somali regions.
The purpose of the survey
The aim of this survey is to objectively measure the baseline and impact brought about by the trachoma elimination effort made in the districts in past and use the finding for programmatic decision.
Job Requirements
The potential consultancy firm is required to meet the following minimum requirements in order to qualify for the submission of proposal.
Train graders as per the
Tropical Data training manual
Assess trainees in the class using standard trachoma photograph slides
Assess trainees in the field on live patients using Kappa calculator
Submit brief report on trainees performance after completion of training
Supervise and guide graders and recorders in the field
Closely monitor the data collection process in the field
Provide technical and logistic support to the survey team in consultation with Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia
Provides update to Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia from the field on daily bases with all possible means
Deliver a written report to Amref at the end of the data collection
