ResponsibilitiesSupport towards project donor field visits, launches, conferences and other events.
Editing and formatting of donor reports
Prepares and edits press releases in close coordination with Communications department.
Prepare AFYA TIMIZA IEC materials and ensure adequate visibility of the project and the donor
Ensure adherence to AFYA TIMIZA’s branding and marking plan
Work with the project team to provide updates on events, activities on a weekly basis
Conceptualize, maintain and create updated content for all communication platforms,
including Newsletters, Publications, Website, Social Media, human-interest stories and
documentaries on a regular basis
Proof reading and editing of public documents and publications
Point person for AFYA TIMIZA with the USAID communication team
Qualifications
A first degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field
3 years’ experience
Experience in Graphic Designs and audio-visual production
mpetencies/Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and networking skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Ability to exercise confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with diverse groups of people
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills

Amref Afya Timiza Gender Specialist Jobs in Kenya
Responsibilities
Provide leadership to develop tools for organizational gender audit and gender analysis
and development of innovative strategies to reduce the gender based barriers to FP/RMNCAH service uptake
Provide leadership during gender analysis and the development and implementation of gender action plan being guided by specific sociocultural contexts
Promote improved gender norms and sociocultural practices as a key strategy to addressing retrogressive cultural norms
Provide oversight to implementation and coordination of interventions for gender
mainstreaming within project interventions
Provide leadership in the design of gender and SGBV community sensitization activities
through adaptation of existing BCC materials to transform norms
Provide leadership during development and systematic implementation of monitoring and
reporting framework for interventions for the gender mainstreaming and prevention and
management of SGBV
Build the capacity of HCWs on gender mainstreaming and integration targeting staff and
partners as well as on SGBV prevention and management using a multi-sectoral approach
Qualifications
Degree in Social Sciences, preferably in public health or related fields
4 years practical experience in FP/RMNCAH, BCC programmes
Ability to take initiative
Excellent presentation, written and communication skills in English and Kiswahili
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and cultural tolerance
Problem solving and initiative oriented
Analytical skills

Amref Afya Timiza Health Financing Specialist Jobs in Kenya
Responsibilities
Support the County Chief of Health to map stakeholders and convene/facilitate Sector
Working Groups for Health (SWGs);
Develop evidence tool kit to inform SWG and medium term budget;
Support engagement with County Assembly Health Committee;
Support counties to conduct Public Expenditure Reviews (PERs);
Support capacity building of counties on Program Based Budgeting (PBB) - County cluster
TOT workshops;
Support CDoH to engage CECs of Finance/Health for more resources;
Support counties to influence County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP) for Health sector and;
Support/facilitate Annual Work Plan (AWP) process (i.e. bring stakeholders together and
review the indicative ceilings) and lobby the counties to absorb the HP+ hired planners/economists.
The project will facilitate the TOTs to cascade the PBB training to SCHMT and Facility levels.
Support the CHMTs to generate evidence to support investment in FP/RMNCAH, nutrition
and WASH interventions and produce advocacy material to be used by members of county
assemblies and other key decision makers.
Work with HP+ to strengthen the working relationship between County Treasury,
Department of Economic Planning and
County Department of Health through an innovative
bonding mechanism.
Work with the community health services team and other stakeholders to mobilize and
sensitize households to register with NHIF
Qualifications
MBA or Master's degree in health economics, health policy and management, or public
health with a health financing focus.
Master’s degree in Finance preferred. Public Health, Public Policy, Public Administration,
Economics, Business Administration, or Law degrees will be considered
At least seven years of relevant experience in health financing, insurance, or related field,
preferably USAID-funded.
Experience in health financing in Kenya
Experience in policy engagement with senior government planners
Experience in providing technical assistance on financing, work planning and budgeting
practices to local governments in the health sector
Experience in proposal development for new financing opportunity, a benefit
Experience with program design including M&E, grant management, business development
preferable in a health context
Proven ability to promote and enhance relationships between private sector actors and
government stakeholders.
Proven ability to interact effectively at senior levels of government and with a range of
stakeholders

Responsibilities
Work with health facilities to apply QI approaches to routine facility practices to bridge
performance gaps
Support MoH to establish systems for continuous learning and implementation of
continuous Quality Improvement methods as well as the spread of successful
innovations throughout the health sector
Work with the MoH to improve the competency and capability of health workers by
strengthening quality training programs, including advocacy for quality improvement within core curricula for health providers
Assist the MoH in improving performance of health care providers by applying evidence-based innovations and continuous monitoring techniques
Convene and conduct quality improvement performance review meetings and other fora
needed to achieve the project objectives
Assist with the design and oversight of learning sessions to facilitate the scale up of
improvements
Work with MoH to establish performance monitoring system for tracking priority QI
indicators across collaborating sites to show improvement in FP/RMNCAH, Nutrition
and WASH processes and service outcomes
Actively participate in compilation and submission of periodic performance and progress reports
Work with MoH and Implementing Partners in identifying and communicating best practices in improvement of healthcare delivery through newsletters, training and coaching session’s publication and research
Work closely with the M&E staff to oversee the process of documenting and disseminating best practices
Ensure QI methods are applied across all operating systems at facilities as well as clinical services
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a BS/BA in Public Health or related field, Nursing Degree preferred
Demonstrable knowledge and skills in implementation of QI interventions in the
context of developing countries and management of QI data and databases
Five to seven (5-7) years’ experience in the public health sector
Experience working with government healthcare facilities in the area of quality improvement, ,
Experience in knowledge management, specifically in the area of public health/ healthcare,
Good facilitation and writing skills.
Strong team leader and player
