Registered in Kenya and affiliated to Amnesty International, the organization has been in the forefront for promoting and protecting human rights for all.

Together with our national board, supporters, members and partners both in civil society and the state, we will create an activist culture that strengthens public expression, association and peaceful assembly and reduces discriminatory inequalities, corruption and impunity at national and county levels.

All applicants to this position will be required to demonstrate a commitment to Amnesty’s organisational values and vision and Kenyan Constitution and be familiar with rights-based organising, citizen empowerment and an anti-discriminatory approach to social justice.

All successful candidates will have demonstrated an ability to work in teams and proven ability to multi-task and work to deadlines, sometimes under pressure

The purpose of the job is to coordinate communications and collaboration between the Office of the Executive Director, Board and the broader Amnesty movement.

This position will act as liaison and strengthen the human rights awareness work of

the Board, deepen our interaction with the wider Amnesty movement and increase the quality of our engagement with various stakeholders. .

Essential

• A degree in social sciences, management or another appropriate discipline

• Clear understanding of organizational strategy, governance and role of Boards

• Demonstrated experience of human rights or social change influencing

• Excellent levels of ethical and inter-personal skills, confidence and tact

• Excellent analytical, presentation and good working knowledge of technology systems including Microsoft, cloud-based storage and team management software

• Proven ability to react to fast changing political situations, exercising and promoting creative thinking;

Desirable

• Demonstrated experience in working for an international organisation or one that works across multiple locations

• Significant experience in liaising with diverse stakeholders from government, civic and businesses

• Demonstrated experience of survey and other information crowd-sourcing tools

• Current membership in one or more associations or networks
