The position
The Head of Materials Management Division will provide support, guidance and professional procurement services, and ensure that supply chain function is running within the requirements of the hospital policies and Financial Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide effective leadership of the entire procurement function/process through proven negotiation prowess, establishing contracts and agreements that protect company interest and optimize value for goods and services that will contribute towards cost effectiveness, improve working capital and reduce expenditure.
Co-ordinate procurement and warehousing processes in line with the laid down procedures and participating in review and development of Supply chain management policies and procedures.
Provide timely and accurate flow of supplies, ensure optimal storage of materials, and oversee warehousing and dispatching functions.
Contract, Services and Supplier Evaluation / Reviews.
Monitor compliance with internal control systems, policies and procedures
in the department, and also prepare the department for both internal external evaluations including internal and external audits.
Ensure timely delivery of goods and services at the right quality, quantity and value for money.
Manage goods disposal
The requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement or Purchasing and Supplies Management.
Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology, CIPS / and any Accounting qualification will be an added advantage.
Six years of experience, three of which must have been in a supervisory role in a busy hospital set up.
An excellent theoretical and practical understanding of entire Supply chain including tendering, negotiation contract management and stocks management;
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop/maintain relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers;
Good financial acumen, project management, Strategic leadership and management skills..
High level of integrity and ethical standards.
Should be a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM);
Proficiency in MS Office packages.
