Responsibilities
Maintains clinical competency, as demonstrated in providing and directing patient care.
Assists and communicates with medical staff concerning patient care issues (e.g., change in condition, refill requests, patient incidents).
Asesses and Triages patients.
Participates in the case management of individual patients to ensure the continuity of care.
Maintains compliance with Nursing Council of South Africa, and other regulatory agencies, statutes and standards.
Conducts nursing care in a manner reflective of the philosophy of AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
Provides education to patient and patient's personal support system in areas such as disease management, safe sex, etc.
Complies with safety standards and infection control standards.
Promotes teamwork, good interpersonal relations and communication among staff at the healthcare setting.
Participates in nursing staff orientation and serves as a clinical resource.
Exercises appropriate judgement and good decision-making skills.
Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary (i.e., assisting the nursing staff at times of critical need, attendance at all assigned committees).

Responsibilities
Leads the development of work plans for the sites within his/region
He/she participates in staff needs assessment, interviewing, and induction of new hired staff.
He/she participates in setting performance targets and staff appraisal, disciplining and addressing complaints of employees under his/her supervision.
Ensures standard quality of clinical services is delivered at all AHF supported sites in the province.
He/She will lead quality assurance initiatives in the province
Provides regular and routine comprehensive support supervision to all facilities supported by AHF and reports back on the same to management
Promotes the implementation of standard operating procedures for all activities relating to good clinical practice and ensures functional QI teams are in existence at site levels
Works with the pharmacist to ensure that pharmacy operations are in accordance with good pharmacy practices
Identifies and promotes operational research at site level and builds capacity among the staff in case presentations and elaboration of scientific papers

Responsibilities
Responsible for carrying out research procedures in accordance with the protocol guidelines as provided by the Project Manager and Investigators;
Conduct chart reviews and other data collection activities as required, using a standardized chart extraction tools;
Record, organize and capture results of chart reviews in preparation for data analysis;
Record-keeping and data management, including keeping a log of patients on the study, test results, follow-up and treatment, as detailed in study protocol;
Liaise with Ithembalabantu Monitoring and Evaluation and HIV Counseling Departments to obtain and return patient clinical data;
Production of regular research progress reports to Program Support Coordinator Manager;
Handle data with care and respect patient confidentiality.
