Job DescriptionAhadukes Food Product S.C. is a manufacturing company primarily engaged in food products, Biscuits and Pasta in Bishoftu town of Oromia state.
It is a joint investment between Ahadu P.L.C & UK based Vasari investment Group. We hence, invite qualified applicants for the following vacant position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Procurement
Developing procurement strategy
Develops and implements procurement strategy for purchasing management so as to ensure procurement needs of functional units are satisfied in full, on time, within budget and to the agreed quality.
Develops long-term mutually beneficial relationships with a core number of key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, best quality and keenest prices.
In collaboration with COO/Production manager and other functional heads plan and schedule annual purchases to ensure consistent and sufficient supply of materials and services are available.
Day- to- day purchasing function and monitoring
Monitors and evaluates effective implementation of Company Procurement policies and procedure.
Conducts market research on a periodic basis to identify potential sources of suppliers for each of the items purchased by the company
Ensures that suppliers’ database is maintained properly and up dated regularly.
Keeps complete updated purchasing records/data (including list of current and potential suppliers) and pricing are available.
Coordinates with user functional units in the purchasing scope of different materials.
Collaborates with Production, Quality Control, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to identify or qualify new suppliers.
Handling and monitoring of claims to suppliers and vendors for defectives, shortage, and missing parts.
Liaises with commercial banks, insurance companies, customs, Ethiopian Shipping Lines and other concerned Government Agencies, in matters related to import of goods, payment modalities, tax issues, shipment, etc.
Makes close follow up of the status of overseas orders.
Monitors and coordinates deliveries of items between suppliers (Local and overseas).
Monitors supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
Collaborates with Production, Quality control, and Supply Chain Teams to identify or qualify new suppliers.
Manages contracts arising from procurement decisions to the best advantage of AFP
Ensure that suppliers are evaluated on a periodic basis
Human resource management/development
In cooperation with HRD recruits and selects staff who
will be engaged in procurement.
Inventory:
Manages and controls the Inventory control functions including /stock control to ensure raw materials and finished products are received, located, stored and transferred correctly and that the company’s stock inventory is accurate.
Executes inventory control measures to ensure the optimum amount of stock is maintained and overstock or obsolete /redundant raw materials are avoided to maximize working capital.
Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
Closely work with HRD to coordinate hiring and training of reporting staff.
Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the inventory management team.
Job Requirements
Qualification:
MBA or BA in Procurement & supply Chain, Logistics & supply Chain Management or other related field of study
Experience:
At least 8 years of experience in Procurement & warehouse & inventory activities of which 3 years in managerial position for MBA & or At least 10 years of experience in Procurement & warehouse & inventory activities of which 4 years in managerial position for BA
Background in the manufacturing company is an advantage
Required Competences, Knowledge, Skills, Attitude & Attributes:
Knowledge of management of procurement including preparation of procurement plan, source selection, supplier and relationship management, and inventory planning and control, materials requirements planning (MRP), and forecasting.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in warehouse planning, warehouse resource allocation including personnel management, leadership technique, warehouse operations methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in inventory planning, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
