Job summaryA qualified and compassionate Child Psychologist is needed for this position.
The counselor is expected to work with children suffering from a wide range of psychological distress and mental disorders like ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, substance abuse, and post-trauma recovery.
The counselor is also expected to work on any other psychological therapy for children in need.
Key responsibilities
Conduct psychological assessments and/or tests for diagnostic purposes.
Develop an individualized treatment plan for each child.
Advise family members on what they can do for their child or how to respond to certain behaviors.
Refer rehabilitation or intervention programs to overcome addiction issues if needed
Provide complete documentation and records of assessments and treatments according to in-house Policies.
Job Requirements
Essential abilities and skills required
Must have the knowledge and skills to provide quality care to our clients and their families.
Must be approachable and empathic for children to be comfortable working with.
Must be knowledgeable of different therapeutic methods and be able to switch between different approaches to meet each child’s needs.
Excellent communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate with children of different ages and from different cultural and socio-cultural backgrounds.
Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal regulations as determined by the company.
Willingness to attend team meetings, case conferences, case debriefings, trainings, seminars on topics relevant to our client base.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Counselling or developmental Psychology or related fields of study.
Experience
At least 2 years of experience in counselling and practical experience working with children in a clinical setting may be strongly desired.
Candidates with additional therapeutic skills like, play therapy, speech therapy, and any other forms of therapies for children are highly desired.
