Agro business Company Cocoa Operations Manager Jobs in Uganda

On behalf of our client an agro business company, we seek to recruit a highly competent, motivated and professional individual to fill the position of Cocoa Operations Manager

Job summary:

To ensure the cocoa sourcing of the company .

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively oversee buying, production, storage and shipping of Cocoa

• Directly manage all staff in Bundibugyo including quarterly performance reviews and annual professional development plans

• Design and oversee construction and expansion of production facilities

• Further develop systems to ensure sourcing accountability and traceability

• Plan and manage organic certification contracting for over 2,000 suppliers

• Continue development of local sourcing strategy for Bundibugyo district including necessary measures to ensure transparency (i.e. radio adverts, price checking, buyer audits, etc.)

• Compile and review weekly and monthly reports from each local staff member – accounting, procurement, storage, and production

• Liaise directly with customers, investors, donors and development partners

• Work closely with Managing Director to arrange and oversee logistics of sales and deliveries

• Plan

and coordinate implementation of any farmer engagement, including training, contracting, certification, and mobilization

• Brainstorm and propose useful and exciting community development initiatives that will benefit both the company and its suppliers

Qualifications and skills

• Degree in Agriculture, business, engineering or development field

• Fluent English

• 5+ years of experience in private sector agricultural business

• 3+ years of experience in cocoa bean quality assessment and management
