Aga Khan University Senior Manager Jobs in Kenya


You will be responsible for advancing relationships with current and prospective donors, to secure philanthropic donations in support of University priorities.

You will develop strategies and partner with diverse individuals, internally and externally, to meet these objectives.

A member of a wider team of fundraising professionals, you will follow, implement and advance best practices in higher education fundraising.

You will be based at the University’s Administrative Office currently located at the Nairobi Campus of the University.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • pro-actively managing and advancing relationships with donors and prospective donors and secure philanthropic major gifts; (5-6 figures) and annual fund level gifts for the priorities of the University;
  • Advising, supporting, and partnering with university leadership, academic faculty, senior administrators, colleagues in Resource Development and Alumni Affairs, and others to advance fundraising;
  • Managing a portfolio of donors and meeting ambitious targets including numbers of: meetings, asks, and proposals submitted, and specific financial goals;
  • Actively participating in the identification and cultivation of new prospective donors;
    ensuring that university and department policies and procedures related to fundraising and advancement services, including donor contact reports, are observed and implemented, aspiring to best practice.

    Qualifications

    You must
    have:

  • A university degree in a relevant field together with an interest in and understanding of, higher education, philanthropy and fundraising and the mission and subject areas of the Aga Khan University;
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in major gift or annual fund level fundraising in a university or non-profit organization, with a track record of cultivating, soliciting, and closing gifts;
  • Experience working with international prospects and donors, with international projects and / or in an international institution.
