Aga Khan University Research Officer Coordinator Jobs Opportunities in Kenya

Purpose:

  • The research officer/coordinator will be tasked with coordination and implementation of activities in a field research study aimed at improving access to antenatal care tests in primary care facilities.
  • The position is based at the Aga Khan University, Mombasa research offices with the bulk of the time spent in field sites and health facilities in Kaloleni/Rabai sub counties of Kilifi County. S/he will work within the Centre of Excellence for Women and Child Health (CoE WCH), East Africa and report to the Study Pl.

    Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise research project activities by continued presence in the health facilities and field sites and ensuring adherence to the study protocol by all staff.
  • Training of health facility nurses and data collectors in collection of study data.
  • Contribute directly to collection of both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Maintain regular communication with county health administration
    on study progress
  • Manage procurement and distribution of supplies and consumables for study activities and completion of relevant financial documentation.

    Qualifications:

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public health, Social sciences, Community health, Project planning and management, Health systems management, or closely related fields.
  • A diploma in Clinical Medicine with relevant research experience will also be considered.
  • Applicants should have 2 years' experience in health related research with in-depth familiarity with government health systems.
  • Experience in collection of quantitative and/or qualitative data is essential.
