Aga Khan Hospital Laboratory Technologist Jobs in Kisumu, Kenya
Laboratory Technologist Overall Responsibility:Reporting to the Laboratory Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing documentation, processing patient’s samples, ensuring timely dispatch of results and maintain records as per the AKHK laboratory policy.
Other Responsibilities:Receive and process specimens, release patients results and archive specimens as per laboratory procedures.
Maintain relevant equipment in terms of routine maintenance, calibration and quality control.
Participate in proficiency testing and other quality assurance programs.
Create and maintain documents and records as required in the laboratory.
Select, bleed donors, and prepare blood and blood products for transfusion as per laboratory procedures.
Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures including but not limited to those related to safety and infection control.
Requirements
Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
Excellent knowledge of laboratory operations and procedures.
Knowledge and experience in hematology, biochemistry and microbiology.
Ability to write and review SOPs.
Excellent computer skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.
Minimum three years working experience in a busy medical laboratory.
Knowledge and experience in ISO 15189 Standard is desirable.
Possession of a Phlebotomy certificate will be an added advantage.
Registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board with a current practice license is mandatory.

Aga Khan Hospital EEG Technologist Jobs in Kisumu Kenya
Job Responsibilities
Read physician’s electroencephalograph test requisition to determine the question to be answered; explain to patient the testing procedure and the need for the examination.
Demonstrate technical proficiency for proper set-up of long-term EEG studies Including lead placement and patient preparation.
Report findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation and demonstrate critical thinking and skills to recognize and correct artifact accordingly.
At the completion of all studies, edit and prepare test for reading by a neurologist, properly remove electrodes, clean patient/equipment, and document all necessary paperwork
Demonstrate customer service in all interactions, that is compassionate, courteous, friendly, and demonstrate respect for privacy
Perform other duties as directed by the supervising neurologist.
Requirements
Completion of specialized training in electroencephalography or related medical training, preferred
One 0) year of experience in an EEG lab preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, required.
