Our core product – AFRIpads Reusable Menstrual Kits – provide women and girls with a sustainable, quality certified menstrual product solution that offers lasting protection, comfort and dignity.
AFRIpads has its head office in Kampala, Uganda. The AFRIpads factory is located in rural Southwestern Uganda, supported by our team of nearly 100 employees (over 85% female).

Who are we looking for
AFRIpads is committed to create gender equality and is not yet finished with the important journey to change the menstrual barriers that girls and women suffer worldwide.
We are experiencing an increasing urgency and relevance for this topic and our products worldwide, which means we need to further focus on strengthening our global commercial partnerships and donor fundraising, and our communications in line with this.
To support this new focus activities within AFRIpads, we are looking for an experienced, commercial and energetic Commercial Partnerships & Communication Lead who is committed to our mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities
1. You have the skills to collaborate with (inter)national corporations, brands and donors and create meaningful partnerships to support our mission and (indirectly) sales.
You know how to use your international network to develop and grow collaborations with our (existing) CSR clients.
2. Based on your global experience and knowledge, you will develop, execute and redefine the CSR strategy to support and grow our existing CSR client portfolio together with the rest of the Partnership team.
Next to that, you will be responsible for managing all AFRIpads (digital) marketing activities for a global audience in cooperation with external
digital marketing agencies.
3. You know what is going on in the field of MHM globally, with contacts and previous experience with other organizations in this sector, and can easily adapt our (digital) marketing content and activities to help us remain a market leader.
You work closely with our Sales team to support their sales activities with spot-on and innovative marketing activities to deliver on our vision of expanding the reach of our impactful menstrual health products across Africa through global partnerships.
4. As the Commercial Partnership Lead you will operate from our Kampala head office and you will report directly to the CEO.
Who you are
You are an experienced people manager with
1. 10-12 years of proven relevant experience in a similar global commercial partnership and/or marketing role within a progressive social organization
2. Experience working in both commercial and non-governmental sectors in marketing for social enterprises
3. A strong commitment to contribute to AFRIpads’ mission and social objectives
4. A creative and resourceful mindset, collaborative nature, and entrepreneurial spirit
5. Flexible mindset and easily adapts to shifting priorities and competing demands in a fast-paced, challenging work environment
6. Experience in independently leading teams
7. Webinar and presentation experience
8. A strong global network of sustainability and MHM professionals
9. Outstanding written and verbal communications skills (English)
10. Fluency in other languages (a plus)
11. A passion for social development
12. A keen eye for connecting global stakeholders to achieve goals of economic growth in Africa
13. The ability to influence and be analytical
