Job Description

Afriflower PLC is engaged in the flower production and export business with 74 hectares of land at Holeta.

We would like to hire an Assistance Operations Manager who is proactive, a hard worker, a smart leader, and an excellent communicator.

Duties & Responsibilities

Planning, Directing, Organizing, Staffing, and Controlling

Integrity and responsibility, taking responsibility or ownership for your work

Self-control and stronger teamwork management, willingness to change their way of thinking or established processes to suit new or changed circumstances.

Preparation of reports, forecast budgets, and cash flow related to the operation of the company.

Check that the production required for sales is within the provisions of the production plan and budgets on a weekly basis.

Monitor if the staff job is done on time according to the expected time and call attention if some issues, concerns, or errors are detected and are not solved at an appropriate time.

Monitor the performance of administrative staff in relation to the operational processes of purchase of materials, imports, exports, and delivery of financial execution reports.

Prepare a monthly report of the required for importations and export sales, detailing the progress and explaining the delays that arise, remembering that compliance with these should be linked to the annual budget of the company.

Ensuring that the report of export sales must be the same with the Unosoft system and with the information saved in Google Drive every month

Interacting with a variety of stakeholders, including customers, vendors such as freight forwarders and transportation service providers, and government representatives such as customs officials.

Check that the values delivered as a guarantee of import transportation are settled and recorded.

Monitor and control expenses according to the approved budget.

Oversee the accounts payable and receivable departments, as well as the financial reporting.

Follow

up on the registration processes, permits, licenses, and other requirements that the company must meet monthly and annually for the proper operation of the company.

Identify lags or risks associated with the operation, production, and sales that can cause loss to the company.

Generate work meetings to discuss aspects of continuous improvement and report progress.

Report to the general manager when you detect a high risk in the operation that could be originated by financial management.

Place of work: Addis Ababa, Head Office. Once in a while, the position requires travel to the farm.

Job Requirements

Education: Master’s Degree in Agribusiness Management, MBA, M.A. in logistics and supply chain management, and other related fields of study.

Experience: 6 years of experience, and 5 years in a similar position, preferably in agriculture, industrial or related fields.

Other requirements include fluency in speaking and writing English, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Required Knowledge:

Knowledgeable about the floriculture industry.

Knowledgeable about importation and exportation processes.

Ability to understand accounting systems, read financial statements, and contribute to the budgeting process.

Familiar with the country’s updated import and export laws and regulations
