Inkomoko provides a combination of training, consulting, and access to finance to entrepreneurs to create thriving communities in Kenya.

Founded in 2012, Inkomoko has worked with more than 41,000 entrepreneurs across East Africa, including thousands of refugee entrepreneurs, resulting in thousands of new jobs.

We have been operating in Kakuma/Kalobeyei/Turkana since 2019, and have 22 staff currently in the Kakuma office, working across all areas of KKT.

    About the Opportunity

    The Driver core responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Safely drive assigned office vehicle, following all Kenya road laws as well as company regulations

  • Identify and remedy any potential safety issues related to the movement of staff and passengers

  • Conduct daily maintenance checks to ensure vehicle safety & hygiene prior to driving

  • Ensure proper insurance and registration is up-to-date at all times

  • Perform both preventative and regular maintenance on assigned vehicles

  • Keep consistent vehicle maintenance records and fuel consumption records

  • Keeping mileage logs and collect daily vehicle schedules

  • Schedule and update on major car service appointments and report any issues

  • Organize and manage any additional transport vendors required for the company’s business, working with our established procurement policies

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the company.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • We are looking for candidates who has an impeccable driving record, knows the communities in which we operate, and can have both mechanical skills and good judgment:

  • Must be a member of the Turkana West Transport & Drivers Association

  • Valid drivers license issued in Kenya

  • Basic mechanic training is required.

  • Clean driving record,
    without any accidents in the past two years

  • Previous training in defensive driving and driving for security of passengers

  • Basic writing, reading skills and basic education

  • Good communicator in Swahili and English

  • Ability to access and use a smartphone 24/7 is a plus

  • Must be willing to live in Kakuma, and have flexible working hours

  • Candidate should work for any other organization while working for Inkomoko
