Job Title Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (Full time)
Location
Bududa, supporting project activities in the entire Manafwa River Watershed
Duration
4 years, subject to successfully meeting 6 months probation period
Position Purpose
Design, review and implement comprehensive M&E management system and guidelines for measuring and tracking project performance, as well as managing the project database.
Tasks and responsibilities
The M&E officer shall:
Make a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning plan (MEL plan), and coordinate its implementation
Develop M&E tools, both qualitative and quantitative to create project feedback and output
Coordinate and supervise impact assessment studies by the project. based on sound survey methods
Manage the project's database where data from all researchers is stored
Produce reporting / M&E schedules for project staff and participating farmers / groups
Prepare reports and documentation of outcomes, outputs, experiences, and key lessons learned
Provide input (highlights, lessons learned, etc.) for policy briefs
Qualifications and experience
A Master's degree related to Rural Development / Agronomy with focus on M&E or Impact Assessment
At least 2 years' experience in outcome mapping or similar kind of M&E approaches
Excellent communication and report writing skills in English
Knowledge in the application of qualitative and quantitative M&E methods in similar settings
Practical knowledge of common statistical analysis and database management packages
Demonstrable
skills and competences of working with diverse multidisciplinary teams
Other desirable skills & qualities
High integrity, honesty and intrinsic motivation for sustainable rural development in Uganda
Ability to provide capacity building training to project staff, partners, and farmers in M&E
Aerial data collection experience, as well as management and utilization
Experience in evaluating sustainable development impact
Video and photography skills and competences
Experience in interdisciplinary development projects, preferably also with international staff
Able to speak Lugisu
