Description

This position is mainly responsible for the resolution of any end-user support-related issues including but not limited to desktop support, mobile device support and audiovisual support. This position is also responsible for providing technical coordination, advice and recommendations for all projects, services and process improvement initiatives in line with end-user functions.

They will be a catalyst to drive innovation and champion user productivity solutions including online learning and unified communications with security and compliance in mind. This function implements new technology and the standardization of all systems (hardware, software and processes) in the Desktop support area.

Requirements

Required Minimum Education/ Training

  • Grade 12, with a proven track record in IT Desktop Support

  • Professional international certifications: ITIL V4 Foundation, MCSE, A+ and N+

  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent qualification will be an advantage

    Required Minimum Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 year’s working experience in an IT environment

  • Minimum 3 years of exposure in IT infrastructure technical support, focused in particular on IT hardware, software applications and end-user support.

    Technical Knowledge/ Competencies

  • Strong IT technical
    capability
    Cyber security trends, technology solutions, and overall awareness. Must demonstrate a good understanding of ISO Standards and frameworks.

  • Technical knowledge and demonstrable skills in the following technologies: Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix,

  • Desktop engineering skills and experience
    Generalist technical knowledge to bridge grey areas between vendors and enable guidance of vendors in meeting business requirements.
