Assistant Accountant Jobs in Kenya

Our client, is a non-profit making organization which raises funds to help finance the spread of Medical Outreach in Africa. They wish to hire an Assistant Accountant with experience in executing the following duties:

Responsibilities

Posting of data into the accounting system i.e. receipts, payments, journals etc

Processing of payments and grants/donations in liaison with the supervisor.

Ensure that the creditors’ accounts are up to date and the payments policies and procedures are adhered to

Preparing of invoices, debit notes, credit notes etc and maintenance of accounts receivable, their collections and ageing analysis.

Raising of Local Purchase Orders

Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements for all bank accounts

Within the delegated authority, the assistant accountant will interpret and advice on the application of financial rules and regulations and ensure compliance with approved financial policies and procedures

Provide accurate and timely information needed to prepare financial reports

Participate in the year-end closure of accounts

Maintain the asset register

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferably in Commerce: Accounting and Finance Option.

Certified Public Accountant (CPAK).

Two (2) to Three (3) years’ experience within Finance in the NGO, Corporate or Service industries.

Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office and Pastel Accounting software.

Must be detail-oriented and able to work with a high degree of accuracy.

Must possess excellent organizational & planning skills.

Proven analytical skills-ability to interpret or generate all types of financial data and financial reports and statements.

Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills.
