Job DescriptionAs a registered charity, founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger operates in 45+ countries. The international network of Action Against Hunger is represented in France, United Kingdom, Spain, Canada, USA and India.
Teams in the field combat hunger on 4 fronts: Nutrition and Health, Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Water, Sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and Mental Health and Care Practices (MHCP).
For our Logistics Department in Borena, we are currently looking for the following professional:

Salary: 8,650.00
General Assignment:
Operating available vehicles and Log books and follow-up tools
Duties and Responsibilities:
1: Transport people and equipment under good security conditions:
When transporting AAH employees, respect the country’s circulation rules and follow the logistician’s planning and instructions;
Ensure all staff and expatriate put their security belt.
In case of an accident, immediately get in touch with the closest police station and duly inform the logistics department;
Follow the instructions of the manufacturer and the AAH rules when using the vehicle;
Keep all personal documents as well as those of the vehicle with you and check that they are valid (driving licence, insurance paper, order mission, AAH ID card, AAH charter & Waiver of liability form…)
Fill in the Log book every day according to AAH Kit Log V_3 procedures.
Respect AAH security rules
2: Ensure maintenance of the vehicle:
Solve minor technical problems;
Inform the logistics department of any major repairs to be carried out;
Carry out daily checks before starting up the motor (oil level; water level ; pressure of the tires)
Wash the car every morning or evening
Ensure radio communications (if applicable)
Turn off the HF / VHF Radio when starting the engine (if applicable)
Note down fuel consumption in the record book in the morning and at the end
of the day as well as any information concerning the maintenance of the vehicle;
Wear security boots.
Ensure that the security tool box and first aid kit are complete and on board
Ensure that there are working fire extinguisher inside the car
Ensure the fuel tank is always half full.
Inform the Base Logistician when service is necessary.
3: Prepare departures to the field:
Inspect and prepare the vehicle the day before departure so as to be on time;
Prepare additional equipment to be brought along according to needs (fuel, stickers, flags, tools, medical kit).
Ensure the good loading and unloading of the car and tight the goods in an appropriate way.
Know the city plan, especially AAH staff houses, INGOs offices, UN offices … and relevant partners’ offices
Make sign a Waiver of Liability form letter for none AAH staff.
4: Behaviour and reporting
Wear on a daily basis AAH visibility clothes.
Behave in a respectful way at check point and/or to police officer and/or to military keeping in mind that you are representing AAH.
Report to the base logistician any problem encountered on the road.
Inform the radio room when departing and returning to the office, people on board and final destination (if applicable)
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
12/10th grade complete or equivalent – 3rd level Driver’s license and 3 years driving experience
