Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is a regional African-led non-governmental organization that supports livelihood-challenged communities in East and Southern Africa to sustainably improve their well-being and standard of living.

AAH-I has over 30 years’ experience working with communities in conflict and post-conflict situations, including refugees, internally displaced people and host communities.
More recently AAH-I has expanded its activities to work with other marginalized communities, including pastoralists and people living in informal urban settlements.
Job Summary
To Implement and monitor successfully the workshop repair and maintenance activities and quality of the work performed by the Workshop Staffs (mechanics/junior mechanics/body work, welding) in accordance to set standards and organisational guidelines.
Qualifications:
At least a diploma in Mechanical engineering from a recognized institution.
Relevant experience in supervising workshops of similar size.
Relevant experience in spare parts management.
At least 5 years’ work experience in a comparable position with references
Computer literate with ability to use Microsoft Office
Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain the proper use of tools, equipment and proper safe keeping and orderliness of the working area.
Carry out fabrication/welding repairs of generator frames/cages, water tanks, diesel tanks, pipe fittings and body/frame repairs on vehicles.
Perform routine maintenance, servicing to vehicles, generators, pumps and others and will check for any signs of cracks or loose fittings, leaks, or worn out parts in line with user manual guidelines.
Develop on the job skills and training for which users of 4wd vehicles, safety driving, on and off road operations.
Report any signs of vehicles misuse by the driver or users in line with performance management and staff code of conduct guidelines.
Responsible for the preventive maintenance of the project’s vehicle including tools inventory, and assist in identifying needed tools or equipment for future needs.
Assign work to the workshop personnel (mechanic/junior mechanics), record each job time performed on the time sheet and job codes to each job carried
out, and check correctness of repairs performed by the staff in line with AAH performance management guidelines and agreed upon standards.
Carry out minor breakdown repairs, diagnose faults, and overhaul engines, gearboxes, transmissions, differentials, and other mechanical components in Juba and in the field in accordance with proper procedures.
Report on vehicle files, repairs carried out for future reference records and update vehicles/generators repair schedule in accordance to maintenance and repair guidelines and user manuals.
Ensure that lubricant and other liquid solutions are filled/added only at the right quantity and used lubricants are appropriately disposed off as per the health and safety guidelines.
Prepare and update lists for spares, and ensure that purchased parts are fitted and the quality of work is maintained in line with vehicle and parts user manuals.
