IntroductionAction Africa Help International (AAH-I-I), an international non-profit making agency that
implements humanitarian relief, recovery and development projects in Africa, seeks to qualified candidate for the position of Workshop Manager for its program in South Sudan. Under the overall leadership of the Operation Manager of the humanitarian project.
Job Summary:
The Workshop Manager will manage the Juba main workshop and support field
workshops to conduct assets repairs and maintenance, and in line with workshop SOPs. The Workshop Manager will plan, coordinate, and monitor workshop technical operations following
standard technical manuals for various assets. S/He will work closely with the Operations
Manager to ensure that workshop operations are implemented and monitored in line with AAH-I
policies and standards. S/He will represent project management in all aspects pertaining to
workshop management and will ensure that the AAH-I vision, mission and values are met and
promoted.
Responsibilities
Planning
Coordinate day-to-day technical repairs and maintenance at Juba level and support field
team to do the same
Contribute to workshop budget establishment and ensure that budget lines are
monitored. Workshop management
Ensure that workshop premises are secure and in good condition
Ensure that assets assigned to the workshops are properly handled and asset lists
maintained
Support in improving global project performance in terms of logistic operations.
Prepare and submit timely workshop donor reports
Maintain auditable soft and hard copy workshops and stores files
Maintain knowledge of workshop technologies and ensure that all staff are familiar with
them.
Periodically organize spare parts, tools and workshop equipment inventories countrywide
Ensure quality control of the services offered by various workshops Spare parts supply chain management
Conduct periodic inventory controls through scheduled/on-spot checks and data
reconciliation. This includes ensuring the availability of tools and spare parts in all
workshops, and a structure to professionally and transparently manage the stock and
other equipment.
Operate the WMMS (Workshop & Materials Management System) and ensure that all
workshop transactions are properly recorded and system backups done appropriately
Staff management
Recruit, train, supervise and monitor workshop staff, including conducting performance appraisals as per the rules.
Set-up and organize all workshops with staff clearly defined roles, responsibilities and objectives according to workshop activity level
Encourage and promote AAH-I mission, values, policies and procedures Relationships management
Contribute actively to UNHCR/UNICEF assets disposal process by organizing required
technical assessment and evaluations
Ensure that donors and other stakeholders are satisfied by AAH-I workshop services.
Maintain good working relationships with other managers and field staff
Qualifications
University degree in Mechanical engineering or relevant diploma with long field experience.
Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in managing big workshops.
Sound knowledge of vehicle technology
Management and organizational skills
Integrity, confidentiality, interpersonal and team skills
Ability to complete complex variety of tasks in an organized manner and to quickly
change and adapt to new priorities
Ability to communicate with all levels (staff, donors, stakeholders), orally and in writing
Good English
writing skills (reports, proposals, technical assessments)
Ability to use Microsoft Office packages & to operate workshop management system
Ability to take initiative and work independently

Job Summary:
You will be collaborating and learning with a seasoned team of fellow developers and ICT project managers with more than 20+ years of combined industry knowledge and implementing a
distributed system in a highly rated organisation that positively impacts lives in tough living environments in Africa.
Responsibilities:
To realize the organization’s intention of integrating access to all of its management, financial, monitoring & Evaluation and reporting operations, we are looking to recruit an in-house team of two or three developers that will be responsible for:
The selection of a suitable Open Source ERP platform/framework, to best suit implementation
and integration of existing and specified applications.
Working with third-party contractors to oversee implementation (on AAH-I's ERP platform) of purchased applications.
Ensuring documentation of code & user manuals.
Carrying out training of staff across our operating regions.
Conducting internal audits of vendor-supplied and integrated applications.
Expected Results
The desired ERP will feature an integrated implementation of a central, hosted, normalised open source (PostgreSQL) database, on which all management applications will be configured. The
applications include:
Financial management
Human Resources Management
Procurement
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Warehousing & distributed inventory management
Fuel Management
Equipment & Machinery management
The organisation's intranet applications
Upcoming applications in future.
Qualifications
Knowledge of software development best practices
Consciousness to and commitment to project management fundamentals (time, deliverables,
quality)
Programming skills : Python, HTML5, JQuery and API development
Database servers: PostgreSQL, MySQL interactions, including ORMs and performance
tuning/optimization.
Experience with MVC frameworks for developing APIs
Previous DevOps experience
Familiarity with Odoo development will be an added advantage
