IntroductionAct Change Transform (Act!) is a local Non-Governmental Organization whose mission is to facilitate the empowerment of marginalized people and communities in Kenya and neighboring countries, to become active participants in their development by enabling them to: stand up for their rights; demand good governance in the management of resources; and participate in decision making processes. Act! does this through implementing partners, offering them capacity development, management of grants so that value for money is achieved and providing strategic leadership in national advocacy for the benefit of women, youth, people with disabilities and other marginalized communities.
Job Summary
The Communications Assistant will provide support to the organization’s overall communication and public relations efforts by ensuring proper documentation of project activities, prepare reports and communications materials as required while ensuring branding and compliance issues related to Act! internal and external communication are adhered to.
Responsibilities
Writing and managing of Act!’s documentation work by writing compelling success stories, among other communications products and publications
Support in social media management and website content management through regular posting and monitoring of public comments regarding Act! online content and campaigns.
Develop and implement strategies and new tools for recruiting and engaging supporters /publics through social media especially during major activities/events –national/international events relevant to Act!’s areas of work.
Provide support in photography and dissemination of photographic materials to speak to Act!s programming requirements.
Participate in and contribute to quarterly and other scheduled program performance review meetings
In coordination with Programs, design, edit, record and produce and publish quality promotional / campaign materials such as posters, leaflets, fliers and brochures.
Provide editorial support to Act! annual and program performance reports.
Contribute towards Act’s Knowledge Management strategies.
Support in media engagement activities such as drafting of press releases and other stories.
Act! for Communications Specialist in his absence.
Essential Qualifications and competencies
University Degree preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public relations or Development Communications
Knowledge of different aspects of social media and digital communication for awareness raising and public engagement
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Strong analytical, editorial, report writing and documentary skills as well as excellent presentation and facilitation skills
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural environment and with partners at all levels
Self driven and able to deliver results with minimum supervision
Willingness to travel extensively within the country, work extended periods in the field and interact effectively with community members and ability to learn new approaches
Must be social media savvy
Highly proficient in Ms Word, Excel, Access, Power-point and the use of internet
Photography and Graphic design skills are an added advantage

Act Change Transform Finance Officer Jobs in Kenya
Job Summary
The Finance Officer will be responsible for management requirements by ensuring proper recording of project expense, advances and liquidations in the financial management system while ensuring proper compliance with all donor regulations.
Responsibilities
Treasury management, Project book keeping, Bank reconciliations and financial reporting as per organizational guidelines.
Ensure timely preparation of pipeline and budget variance reports.
Maintaining finance documentation and proper filing systems.
Customize and maintain effective financial systems that meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Support in preparation of monthly finance plans in consultation with the Finance Manager.
Support resource mobilization in development of budgets for proposals.
Support the Audits (Program and Organizational).
Support capacity building of project partners on best practices in financial management.
Support regular site visits to the sub-grantees, as per approved work plans.
Support grants team in conducting risk assessment on potential partners, as per set guidelines.
Assist in
the implementation of security management system and protocols to support Act!s operations field offices.
Assist proper liquidation of program expenses while ensuring timely preparation of Donor reports.
In collaboration with the driver(s), take full responsibility of day to day management of Office fleet while ensuring that documentation, vehicle insurances, logbooks, fuel consumption and maintenance / servicing protocols are observed at all times.
Qualifications
A Bachelors of Commerce Degree (Finance or Accounting option).
Full professional certification of CPA K or ACCA.
At least three years proven experience in a finance related field with sound understanding of NGO Operations especially in a USAID funding environment which would be an added advantage.

Act Change Transform Administrator Officer Jobs in Kenya
Job Summary
The Administrative Officer will primarily be responsible for day to day the implementation of an efficient administrative system within Act!’s laid down policies and procedures framework to support Mombasa Office operations. S/he will work collaboratively with all staff to provide administrative support towards ensuring operational efficiency as well as have significant contact and interaction with Act!s business partners to provide goods and services while ensuring that Service Level Agreement deliverables are being met satisfactorily within the Mombasa office.
Responsibilities
Ensure efficient and effective running of all Mombasa office operations and management.
Take full responsibility over the day to day management of a fully documented assets management system to support Act!s management of assets based on best practice (Compare best practice verses Act!s system) and conduct a physical bi-annual assets management systems audit before 31st December of each year.
Store management to ensure proper tracking of both equipment’s and office supplies.
Ensuring effective maintenance and repairs of assets and other administrative infrastructural systems, liaising with the appropriate staff to arrange quality repairs of reported malfunctions in a timely and expeditious manner.
Establish and maintain a filing system for the Mombasa Office.
Take full responsibility of all documents to be sent to Nairobi for payment processing through courier.
Ensure vendor invoices and transaction support documents are presented in the prescribed manner in accordance with donor requirements.
Prepare process and track payment in liaison with the Act! Finance Department in Nairobi.
Manage Mombasa office petty cash in the prescribed manner
Ensure the administrative hand over for staff exits is undertaken in compliance with Act’s policies.
Assist in the implementation of security management system and protocols to support Act!s operations field offices.
In collaboration with the driver(s), take full responsibility of day to day management of Mombasa Office fleet of vehicles while ensuring that documentation, vehicle insurances, logbooks, fuel consumption and maintenance / servicing protocols are observed at all times.
Supervise the driver and the Office Cleaner.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or related business field.
A diploma in Logistics, Procurement or Administration.
At least 4 years’ experience in the Administration or Logistics with sound understanding of NGO Operations especially in a USAID funding environment.
Negotiation and problem solving skills.
