The USAID funded PMI VectorLink Uganda Project supports the Presidents Malaria Initiative (PMI) in the planning and implementing IRS program with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria in 15 districts in Lango region and eastern Uganda. The project implements IRS program in collaboration with the Ministry of Health National Malaria Control Division through cost effective commodity procurement, logistics system and access to technical expertise.
Abt Associates seeks qualified candidates for the position of District Coordinator for the PMIVectorlinkProject’s operations in Uganda. Brief descriptions and qualification requirements for vacant positions are also listed below

Responsibilities:

  • Performs programmatic and management oversight for all aspects of the project's spray operations, including campaign planning, technical assistance and training, logistical and operational support and supervision, and activity tracking and reporting. Sfhe will coordinate closely with government counterparts, and oversee the activities ot project field statt and seasonal spray teams.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public or Community Health, Environmental Health, Entomology, or other relevant tield and 3+ years of experience in vector control and IRS. In-depth knowledge of regulatory and operational aspects of insecticide use and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of direction and supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both as a member oi a team and as a team leader, with the ability to accept the inputs of other team members.
  • Strong management and planning skills of project tasks and budgets.
  • Demonstrates leadership and team work and produces high quality work in a timely. cost effective manner and has excellent writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, computer software programs, including MSWord. Excel. and PowerPoint.
  • Experience
    with USAID funded programs and for other international development experience.
  • English language fluency.
  • Job Experience Requirements: 3+ years
