Job DescriptionBasic FunctionsSkilled in all aspects of line production activities. Knowing the maintenance terms to lead and drive all shift team. Implementing plans to achieve targets.
Driving the line production, work with operators, maintenance team, line helpers, quality team and other line supervisors to ensure success.
Optimizing the shift performance, as a unit and as part of with company policy. Work with the shift leader for organizing, planning and prioritizing skills to achieve the target.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Taking full responsibility of the line in terms of management of staff, management of production and quality targets and to ensure the smooth running of the production processes
Supervising line operation; organizing and monitoring work flow.
Accomplishing the line works results by communicating job expectations.
Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process.
Monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions
Implementing and reporting procedures and systems.
Facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points.
Initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel
Accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems;
Reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
Following the systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Coordinating with line supervisors determine the staff activity levels.
Directing employees through their daily routines.
Motivating staff to deliver better results.
Monitoring staff
performance during a shift and addressing any shortcomings.
Mentoring and training up new employees.
Making sure that all staff are properly dressed and enforcing grooming and appearance standards.
Ensuring the correct staffing levels for the shift.
Managing the opening and closing of the work premises.
Preparing finished product transfer orders so that they are ready to be shipped out.
Ensuring that quality audits are completed to a high standard.
Being involved in and contributing to team meetings.
Making sure that all staff have the basic skills training needed to perform their jobs.
Executing the production process, and drive the team to achieve the target.
Coordinating with store team for material availability on time.
Coordinating with maintenance team for machine availability
Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programmers.
Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.
Reviewing worker performance and report to shift leader / production manager on time.
Cross training worker teams for maximum production flexibility.
To ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff
Problem solving and troubling shooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand
To work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective communications tools
Job Requirements
Qualification:
BSC Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Food technology, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Chemistry from recognized University/College.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 4 years working Experience in Food and Beverage industry
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Experience of operating all machines.
‘Hands on’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Proven record of identifying innovative technical solutions
Experience of building strong working relationships with all stakeholders both internally and externally
Working knowledge of management principles including finance, health & safety, quality assurance, human resources etc
Ability to handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting deadlines
