AATF is an international not-for-profit organisation that facilitates and promotes public / private partnerships to promote food security and enhance livelihoods of smallholder farmers in SSA.
AATF works with African governments, private and public technology owners and developers, NGOs, seed companies, and African smallholder farmers to identify and access technologies that address farmers’ key problems and empower them through the availability of a choice of agricultural innovations that generate wealth and health for their families and communities.
AATF is a registered charity under the laws of England and Wales and has host country status with the Government of Kenya.
The Foundation depends on the ongoing support and collaboration of different partners and investors to meet its objectives.
Under the direct supervision of the Agribusiness Development Manager, the officer shall provide technical support on Agribusiness Development, conduct baseline and feasibility studies, and drafting concept notes, business plans, market and impact assessment for all AATF projects
Functions / Key Results Expected
Support the Agribusiness Development Manager in conducting baseline and feasibility studies, and drafting concept notes, business plans, market and impact assessment for all AATF projects.
Assist in project management and coordination including financial reporting to ensure attainment of set milestones
Ensure coordination and implementation of agribusiness development activities, and action plans within AATF projects i.e. identification and conducting of training on agribusiness components of projects, inform market linkages for AATF projects (identification of suitable project partners, developing commercialization pathway for projects)
Assist in the identification of training needs and in organizing agribusiness training for project partners as deemed appropriate
Assist in the creation of market access and linkages
Provide administrative and technical support for any assignments required by the Agribusiness Unit and other PDC managers
Ensure coordination and implementation of agribusiness development activities, and action plans within AATF projects i.e.: identification and conducting of training on agribusiness components of projects, inform market linkages for AATF projects (identification of suitable project partners, developing commercialization pathway for projects)
Contribute to the design of strategies to strengthen AATF presence in Sub Saharan Africa i.e., development of concept notes and proposals to advance AATF work in SSA, align
AATF work with strategic objectives
Impact of Results
The key results have an impact on AATF’s corporate brand positioning, visibility, and reputation, including overall success with the implementation of AATF projects, initiatives, and strategies.
The results will build AATF as a strong development partner.

Excellent writing and editing skills
Fluency in English. Knowledge of French or Portuguese would be an added advantage
Recruitment Qualifications
Education
Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics or any other related and equivalent disciplines from a recognized institution
Experience
At least Five (5) years’ experience in agricultural value chains
Documented experience in conducting baseline. feasibility studies, market and impact assessments
Experience and knowledge in various agricultural Technologies
Proven experience linking farmer businesses to diverse types of markets
Proven experience developing training programs for smallholder farmers
Language Requirements
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Working knowledge of French would be an added
advantage
