A & J Global Principal Property Development & Management Jobs in Kenya; Our client, operating within the Pension Fund sector in the East African region, is looking to fill key positions to join a team dedicated to delivering client centric services aligned with its strategic goals and plans for the next five years and beyond. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, candidates must be prepared to take on vital roles defined by the policies and frameworks established to fulfill the organization’s core mandate.


An officer at this level will work under the supervision of a more senior officer.


a) Duties and Responsibilities

(i) Reviewing bid documents;

(ii) Verifying targets for the property management agents’ rental levels, maintenance and general procedures;

(iii) Ensuring preparation of applications for prospective tenants fronted by the Property agents;

(iv) Liaising with agents to ensure that they advertise and rent out the Fund’s properties;

(v) Coordinating monthly inspections of the buildings with the property management agents;

(vi) Ensuring forwarding of valuation requests and relevant documentation to the Chief Government Valuer and independent valuers;

(vii) Analyzing Management reports for all Fund properties and maintain all relevant logs records and information relating to the properties required;

(viii) Resolving of conflicts between tenants and the managing agents;

(ix) Ensuring the Fund properties adhere to all statutory regulations;

(x) Reviewing designs and drawings;

(xi) Conducting project inspections and reporting on production while managing related contracts;

(xii) Confirming fee notes and certificates for payment;

(xiii) Preparing plans, layouts, designs, reports and cost estimates for budgeting and property development purposes and for proposed routine maintenance works and new projects, either in house or in liaison with consultants and
contractors;

(xiv) Evaluating performance standards for consultants and contractors for on-going projects and advise management on appropriate action;

(xv) Evaluating and Analyses tender and project scheduling and monitoring,

(xvi) Attending site meetings to evaluate project progress;

(xvii) Pursuing statutory approvals in conjunction with project consultants; and

(xviii) Performing project hand-over inspections and sign-off, and

(xix) Administering leases for the Fund Commercial buildings and lease offices.



b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an Officer must have:

(i) Served for a cumulative service period of nine (9) years, three (3) of which must be at the grade of Senior Property Development & Management Officer or a comparable position;

(ii) Bachelor’s Degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, Construction, Planning, or related field from a recognized institution;

(iii) Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized

(iv) institution;

(v) Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing;

(vi) Proficiency in computer applications;

(vii) Fulfilled requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution; and

(viii) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
