Yehu Microfinance was founded as a Trust in 2007 and is focused on the provision Rural Financial Services in the Coastal Region of Kenya with its Head office at Mombasa. With over 28,000 members, it has adapted Grameen Model which complements its unique sub-branch framework well and has ensured enhanced access of financial services to its targeted market niche.
Chief Operations Officer (COO)
The Chief Operations Officer who should be able to empower other staff members to deliver measurable, cost effective results that make the vision of the organization a reality.
Key Specific Responsibilities
Ensure the continued financial sustainability Yehu Microfinance Trust in its core business of provision of financial services to the socio-economically marginalized entrepreneurs through sound fiscal management.
Provide pragmatic leadership and input for strategic planning processes with CEO
Ensure that all program activities operate cost effectively, consistently and ethically within the mission and values of Yehu Microfinance Trust
Prepare and submit an annual operational plan to the CEO for further consideration, management within the approved budget, and report accurately as well as timely on progress made and challenges encountered.
Lead a high performing operational team both at the head office and branches.
Oversee and manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Trust, ensuring operations are in sync with strategy.
Take a leadership role in the establishment of performance indicators, and monitoring of performance against predetermined goals.
Ensure compliance with any and all requirements for partnerships, financial institutions and regulatory bodies.
Develop and administer personnel-related policies and practices.
Take a lead role in the development of operational staff performance objectives and in the evaluation of performance against organizational goals.
Provide coaching and counseling where necessary.
Foster a staff culture that supports the strategy of the Trust.
Oversee risk management and legal activities: Letters of agreement, contracts, leases and other legal documents and agreements.
Organizational reporting and monitoring.
Key Qualifications
As a prerequisite, the successful candidate must believe in the core values of Yehu Microfinance Trust and be driven by the mission.
The candidate should demonstrate a passion for uplifting socio-economic livelihoods among the marginalized. Beyond that,
Yehu is looking for an individual that has proven experience in scaling similar organizations under constraining framework and demonstrated ability to both lead and build the capabilities of a self-driven and motivated team.
The successful candidate will most likely have:
Had experience in the Microfinance field at management level for not less than FIVE years. Experience in managing value-driven similar organization will be an added advantage.
Solid Education Background-Undergraduate degree is required; MBA or similar advanced degree is highly desired as well as proficiency in various computer applications and relevant software.
General Management - Thorough understanding of various microfinance models, operational systems and Human Resource; broad experience with the full range of business functions and systems, including strategic development and planning, budgeting, business analysis, finance, information systems, human resources and marketing.
Strategic Vision and Agility - Ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends and incorporate them into the organizational plan.
Capacity Building- Ability to effectively build organization and staff capacity, developing top notch workforce and the processes to ensure that the organization runs smoothly.
Leadership and organization- Exceptional capacity for managing and leading people, a team builder who has experience in scaling up organizations, ability to connect staff both on an individual and as teams; capacity to enforce accountability, develop and empower top notch leaders from bottom up, lead from top down, cultivate entrepreneurship, and learn the strengths and weaknesses of the team so as to put people in a position to succeed.
Action-oriented;- Enjoys working under pressure and looks for challenges, able to act and react as necessary, even if limited information is available, not afraid to take charge of a situation, can overcome resistance to leadership and take unpopular stands when necessary.

MIS / IT Officer
Specific Responsibilities
Information- Make it easy for the staff to produce and access information to perform their work and for key stakeholders to participate and interact effectively with Yehu Microfinance Trust.
IT application- Achieve and sustain effective easy-to-use & integrated IT applications that support management of information throughout all the value chains of the organization.
IT security- Protect YMT information & information systems to ensure their integrity, confidentiality and availability.
IT infrastructure- Provide IT/IM infrastructure that is secure, robust, reliable and responsive to changing business needs.
IT/IM Human capital- support recruitment, development and retention of a highly capable IT/IM work force with competences needed to support the realization of Yehu’s goals and objectives.
IT/IM customer service- Achieve and sustain high level of satisfaction of YMT’s service delivery to its esteemed customers.
Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery.
Provide users with technical support for computer problems.
Develop and interpret organizational goals, policies, and procedures within the context of IT/MIS
The officer must be able to work for long hours and be able to meet deadlines
Key Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
Skills in Data management, processing, backup and security
Proven knowledge of Windows server 2003/2008,
Working knowledge of MS SQL Server Reporting Services and Ms Access based applications
Ability to manage and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, VPN, terminal servers
At least 2 years experience ¡n a system administration environment
Strong problem-solving, adaptability, analytical and excellent supervisory skills
Certificate in CCNA an added advantage.
