Road Design Engineer, Engineering Services for Rural Roads Rehabilitation

Tetra Tech is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified Road Design Engineer candidates for a USAID-funded project in Liberia.

The project will provide engineering designs of rural roads, quality assurance of construction standards, and capacity building in road maintenance.

The Road Design Engineer will be the lead technician for rehabilitation of rural roads.

Duties will include determining the technical specification and resource needs for the road works to be included in procurement documents and working with local construction contractors to ensure quality and timely performance. The candidate will be based in Monrovia, Liberia.

Qualifications:

Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering;

Be a registered or Chartered Professional Engineer (PE);

Have at least 10 years of experience in road construction, of which at least 5 years must be working as a Design Engineer on rural road construction projects in Africa;

Demonstrated experience working on donor-funded projects; experience on USAID-funded projects preferred;

Have professional experience working in Africa;

Very strong interpersonal and communications skills; and

Fluency in written and spoken English required.
