Technology for Women in Business (TWIB) is calling for the 2008 Awards nominations.

South Africans are invited to nominate women who have successfully used distinctive technology to operate, innovate and develop new business products and services.

These nominations are to be made from 15 March - 30 June. A panel of distinguished male and female judges will assess all applications.

First assessment is done through short-listing of suitable candidates followed by the on-site visits to the businesses.

Nominations can be made by either completing the entry form and/or contacting the Sawen GP office at (011) 339 5214.

To be able to enter for these prestigious awards, the following is required:

Prizes:

From ICT business solutions, hard and software products, as well as entrepreneurial business support.

Criteria:

The nominee’s enterprise:

Must be a formally registered company owned and/or managed by women;

Must have existed for two or more years;

Must be 60% owned by women;

Must ensure that 50% of its employees are women;

Must demonstrate application of a new, innovative technology and/or diffusion;

Must be a profit-making enterprise

Must demonstrate sustainability.
